          📚 LESSON 5⃣5⃣📚

🍒 Hastening on the punishment.
🍒 Abu Taalib assembles Bani Haashim and Bani Al-Muttalib.

           ✨ HASTENING ON
           THE PUNISHMENT ✨

💝 The Prophet (SalAllahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) was also sent to his people to warn them that if they continued rejecting the call to faith, Allah might at any time punish them severely. He cautioned them but they waited and watched. Nothing happened, so their inherent arrogance grew, and they challenged the Prophet (SalAllahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) to hasten Allah’s punishment.

🌺 Allah replied to their request in the following three ayaah:
📖 “Yet, they ask you to hasten on the punishment! But Allah will not fail in His Promise. Verily, a day with your Lord is like a thousand years of your reckoning.” 📌 (22: 47)
📖 “They ask you to hasten on the punishment. Indeed, Hell will encircle the unbelievers.” 📌 (29: 54)
📖 “Are the plotters of wickedness not afraid that Allah will cause the earth to swallow them up? Or that Allah’s punishment will seize them unexpectedly, or that He may call them to account in the midst of their daily affairs when they have no chance to escape? Or that He may cause them to waste away gradually? Truly, your Lord is kind and merciful.” 📌 (16: 45-47)

💝 Again, the Makkans found a way to evade the truth. They remained stubborn in their opposition, and made further demands of the Prophet (SalAllahu ‘alaihi wa sallam), asking him to enact miracles even as they hoped he would be unable to perform them. Thus, they wavered, sometimes approaching the Prophet (SalAllahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) with compromises, and at other times challenging him to do the impossible. Many of the Makkans felt that the only solution was the sword, while others feared the consequences of killing their adversary.

                BANI HASHIM &
          BANI AL-MUTTALIB ✨

🌺 The new and welcome changes notwithstanding, Abu Taalib still had a deep sensation of fear over his nephew. He deliberated on the previous series of incidents including the barter affair of Amarah bin Al-Waleed, Abu Jahl’s rock, Uqbah’s attempt to choke the Prophet (SalAllahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) and finally Umar’s [before his conversion] itention to kill Muhammed (SalAllahu ‘alaihi wa sallam).

💝 The wise man understood that all of these unequivocally smacked of a serious plot being hatched to disregard his status as a custodian of the Prohet (SalAllahu ‘alaihi wa sallam), and kill the latter publicly. In the event of such a thing, Abu Taalib deeply believed, neither Umar nor Hamzah would be of any avail, socially powerful though they were.

🌺 Abu Taalib was right. The polytheists had laid a carefully-studied plan to kill the Prophet (SalAllahu ‘alaihi wa sallam), and banded together to put their plan into effect. He, therefore, assembled his kinsfolk of Bani Hashim and Bani Al-Muttalib, sons of ‘Abd Munaf and exhorted them to immunize and defend his nephew. All of them, whether believers or disbelievers, responded positively except his brother Abu Lahab, who sided with the idolaters.
